Daily Prompt: Unfinished

Everybody leaves things unfinished. Whether it’s that Pinterest project or a relationship or a blog. I have 17 unfinished “drafts” that I have yet to finish before I post them on this blog. The word “unfinished” makes me think of how most of the kids in this classroom I’m sitting in, will go home tonight and watch Netflix or hide in their rooms from their crazy families or go to a swim meet, and not finish their homework. The word “unfinished” also makes me think of Brandon Heath’s song “Wait and See” where he sings “He’s not finished with me yet.” God’s not finished with you yet.

Unfinished makes me think of the tragedy that is life itself and how sometimes people never really live their life like they were made to and they die which leaves everything about them… unfinished.

Unfinished is a picture of every meal that my favorite 3 year old is served. Unfinished is that dream you gave up on. It’s all the broken jewelry you thought you’d someday fix. It’s all the things you want to do to make your house better but you don’t have the time, energy, or money for. It’s all the inventions you have created in your head but you can’t create them cause you have to provide for your family.

This week I dare you to finish something. Anything. It could be small. It could be huge. I’m giving you permission to take a break from normal and mundane to finish that one thing that’s been bothering you. If it’s too big, at least start to finish it. I dare you. Then let me know what it was, cause I would love to hear about it. 🙂
